Decomissioning of the 7 T superconducting magnet

14/12/2022

Last Monday, we successfully de-energized the 7 T superconducting magnet from Agilent Technologies after more than 10 years of service to be replaced by a new liquid-helium free 7 T magnet. Hopefully, we expect to relocate the Penning traps system inside the new magnet in the following weeks.

On Tuesday, we carefully moved the old magnet outside the lab. This magnet will be delivered in the near future to GSI-Darmstadt for its implementation within the MATS collaboration.
