The group of Prof. Christoph E. Düllmann collaborates with our group on the synthesis of thorium salts for the production of atomic thorium ions and thorium oxides.

During their stay, we employed a newly installed MCP-based diagnostic system in the Penning trap beamline, coupled to two ion-source production schemes. We also applied the photon-based detection technique currently under development, and we formed a hybrid Coulomb crystal consisting of two ions from different calcium isotopes.
